Tu B’Shevat is a Holy Day which occurs on the 15th day of Shevat. This Holy Day is also called “The New Year of Trees.” The name of the Holy Day derives from טו and בשבט where characters טו play a role of a number (tet and vav together give 15).

"In the seventh month, in the twenty-first day of the month, the Word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet…" This message was directed to the Jews who were rebuilding the Temple long ago and likewise to us who live in the contemporary world.

Haggai was a prophet who lived 2,500 years ago and wrote the Book of Haggai. He revealed to the Jewish people God’s will about restoration of the Temple. He encouraged them giving assurance of God’s presence and pointing out to the future hope.
