Sir Nicholas Winton saved the lives of hundreds of young Jewish people.

He was working as a stockbroker when he arranged trains to carry Jewish children from occupied Prague and eventually on to Britain. In all, he organised the rescue of 669 children destined for Nazi concentration camps.
