Magnificent Building from Second Temple-Period Jerusalem

New paths through Western Wall tunnels reveal the complexity of Jewish life in Jerusalem between the Hasmonean and Roman periods.

Visitors to Jerusalem will now be able to explore multiple pathways beneath the Western Wall.  Shachar Puni, architect for the Israel Antiquity Authority, has stated, “the new route provides a better understanding of the complex and important site…and…emphasizes the extent of this important building.”

Opening multiple pathways through the tunnels make it possible for visitors to enjoy multiple visits so as to explore the site fully.
