In the Bender Kitchen: Matzah Pizza and Matzah Lasagna

This is a virtual recipe for how to make matzah pizza and matzah lasagna.

Matzah is an unleavened flatbread that is a central aspect of the Jewish Passover celebration when chametz, or leaven, is forbidden to even be found in a Jewish person’s home. As the Bible describes, God commanded the Jewish people to eat unleavened bread.

Matzah that is considered kosher for Passover is usually made from whole grain or refined grain flour combined with water; some Sephardic Jewish communities also integrate eggs or fruit juice into their matzah recipes.

Non-Passover matzah may include additional ingredients such as onion, poppy seed, garlic, or be made from alternatives to flour such as rice, buckwheat, or maize.
