Yiddish Words You Should Be Using Right Now

As many readers know, there are videos on Shalom Adventure to help you learn Hebrew, but what about learning some Yiddish vocabulary as well?

Yiddish is an ancient language most closely resembling Middle High German, and is similar to Hebrew in that it is written from right to left. One cool thing about Yiddish is that it is the only Germanic language to be inscribed in a non-Roman alphabet, derived from a truly kaleidoscopic combination of Hebrew, Aramaic, Polish, Russian, Czech, Ukrainian, other Slavic languages, Old Italian, and Old French.

Check out this link to another Shalom Adventure article listing more fun Yiddish words that can be incorporated into your vocabulary.
