Miracle in North Miami

Miracle in North Miami

I often hear people ask where the modern day miracles are.

The bible is full of miracles performed by Yeshua and his disciples.  Well, I’m here to tell you that G-d is still answering prayers and performing miracles.

Approximately 32 years ago, I was married and living in North Miami, Florida.  My husband at that time was a flight attendant for National Airlines.  For the past 2-3 months, I was having severe stomach pains.  I went to a doctor several times and he finally decided I had hepatitis and told me to go to bed for a month or so and the liver would heal itself.  So I did.

One morning I woke up and the pain was so bad I couldn’t even make it to a telephone or the front door and my husband was on a trip.  I must have passed out from the pain.

Meanwhile, at Eastern Airlines, my mother-in-law was busy taking reservations and looking forward to going to lunch.  After she hung up the phone, she heard a voice telling her that her daughter-in-law was in serious trouble and she had to get to her right away.  I’m sure she wondered if this was just her imagination because she knew that I did drugs and got in some kind of trouble all the time.  But the voice kept telling her that this was not the case and she had to go to her immediately.  So she told her supervisor she had to leave on a family emergency and clocked out.

When she arrived at her son’s house, she knocked on the door and no one answered.  She looked through the front window and saw me on the floor.  She used her key to gain entry and went to get the man that shared their duplex.  Together they put me in the car and she rushed to the emergency room.

Meanwhile, one of the best GYN’s in Miami was getting ready to leave North Miami Hospital.  He had just finished a surgery and had to get back to his office.  But he had a feeling that he should stay just a while longer so he did.

He saw a woman run into the emergency room screaming that her daughter-in-law was in her car and in terrible pain.  He saw the attendants rush out to get me.  When they brought me in, he had a feeling again that he should stay and see what was happening with me.   So he followed the attendants into the part of the emergency room they put me in.

He watched as I screamed in agony that my stomach was killing me and had been for months.  I was given something for pain which allowed the attendants to get more information from me.  As he listened to me, something told him that this was not something common; that his expertise was needed.  So he ran over and took over.  He felt my stomach and decided to do a pelvic exam right away.  The exam told him everything he needed to know.

The diagnosis was Ectopic Pregnancy.  An ectopic pregnancy is one in which the fertilized egg attaches itself in a place other than inside the uterus.  When this happens there is very real danger of life-threatening hemorrhaging.  He had no time to waste; I was prepped for surgery.

When I woke up, I knew that something bad had happened to me.  The doctor told me had I come in even an hour later, I probably would have died as I was bleeding profusely internally.  I was not a believer at that time so I had no idea the miracles that occurred on that day.  The voice that told my mother-in-law to come to my house and the feeling that overcame the Doctor to stay in the hospital must have come from G-d’s messengers.

So yes, miracles still happen every day, maybe every minute of the day.  G-d just doesn’t get the credit for them every time.

It took me 15 years to realize who really saved my life and I’m sure glad that He did!!
