The UN recognizes only one people group as refugees past the first generation of those that fled, and that is the arabs who fled the land mass generally called palestine when their leaders told them to temporarily get out of the way so that they could drive the Jews into the sea and then allow those arabs to come back with even more land.
But the invaders lost, and lost their land. That is how it works in war. For all other people groups the UN only recognizes the ones who fled as refugees, not their descendants. For all other refugees from around the world the UN finds new homes for those who fled during war, but not so with the arabs who left the place that was generally called palestine. They have not been allowed to become citizens of other nations. The UN and muslim world has left their descendants in refugee camps, some even in gaza, which was ruled by so-called palestinians Thus palestinians kept other palestinians as refugees. The muslim nations, and even the palestinians themselves, don’t care about the so-called palestinians.
Many don’t realize that there were hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees at that same time. They were kicked out of the muslim lands where they had lived for centuries. Their loss was great. The difference was the Jewish homeland of Israel made them citizens. That is what true love does.
Some arrogant, ignorant anti-Jews have said to the Jews, “Go back where you came from,” meaning the anti-Jewish countries of Poland, Germany, Russia, etc. that persecuted, and killed Jews, but they don’t even realize that many of those in Israel came from muslim nations who won’t take them back. Another aspect of the stupidity of that statement is that going back where they came from is Israel where we lived for millenniums.
Ari Lesser put to music a catchy poem he wrote about the Jewish refugees from the muslim nations.
