What an interesting video about the movement of BDS on campuses across the country. Perhaps I am the only one, but I didn’t understand what it was they were trying to do and why.
I had the pleasure of attending a couple of universities, and I was puzzled how this idea could even take root. Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions, as he explains, is an isolation strategy. It is just another form of control over a group of people who are not even being seen as Human beings. This is where I have a problem because I believe all people have value, and we all know that an isolation strategy does not just stop there; it eventually moves to the extermination of a people group.
I agree with Mr. Rochman that you do not fight rhetoric with laws or protests; it just creates more anger, which leads to bitterness, which leads to violence. We must influence the student body; we need to understand them so we can move them with love. God is love, and it can cover a multitude of sins. The anti-Semitism movement has influenced a few students, and they have gone out and spoken to other students, gradually growing support. Those who understand but may not be Jewish need to work with and stand alongside the Jewish students to stand and say Never again. This is our future, our students, let's encourage, influence, and move them into understanding and truth, and I believe that starts with Yahweh.
