Every year, for the past 43 years of doing the daily Dry Bones cartoons, I face the same mind-cracking question; how to spell the name of our eight-day Festival of Lights!
The Hebrew word Chanukah (or Hanukka, Hanukkah, Chanukka, Hanucca,) means dedication and it celebrates our re-dedication of our Holy Temple in Jerusalem after its having been defiled by the Syrian/Greeks occupiers. In 2025 the first night of Hanukka ( Hanukkah, Chanukah, Chanukkah,Hanucca,) is December14th. (The first night of Chanukah fell on Dec 25 in 1910, 1921, 1959, 2005, and 2024.) Have a happy!
